Led by Principal Architect Mark Rietveld, the studio draws on more than three decades of experience in the design and delivery of custom residential architecture across Western Australia. Working in close collaboration with Co-Director and Design Manager Brenden Cook, the practice maintains direct involvement throughout all stages of design and construction.
The studio has developed a reputation for delivering carefully resolved homes defined by clarity, proportion and material integrity.
Projects undertaken by the practice have received numerous awards and recognition at both state and national levels, reflecting the architectural rigour and disciplined execution that underpin its work.
Rietveld Architects undertakes a limited number of commissions each year, ensuring a focused and considered approach and continuity of design intent from concept through completion.
The studio regularly works with interstate and international residential clients, with translation support available where required.

Mark’s work is guided by a belief that good architecture should feel calm, clear and enduring. His projects emphasise proportion, natural light and carefully considered material palettes, producing homes that are both spatially generous and quietly refined. Spaces are carefully composed through proportion, light and sequence, creating homes that feel ordered, calm and effortless to inhabit.
Brenden Cook
Co-Director & Design Manager
Brenden works closely with clients to ensure projects move forward with clarity and confidence. Drawing on his experience across residential design and project delivery, he helps guide projects through each stage of the process while maintaining clear communication between clients, consultants and builders.
